Ah, your generous spirit! While you’re limited to three prize slots for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams when booking a show, there are still creative ways to provide additional prizes. It’ll certainly make your trivia event even more exciting. Here are some ideas that other venues have successfully implemented:
- Highest score in a specific round: Recognise the team that achieves the highest score in a particular round. You can easily track the scores for each round using the NetQuizz App. This adds an extra element of competition, and rewards teams for their knowledge in specific areas. You choose a round and let the teams know at the beginning of the show.
- Funniest or most creative team name: Award a prize to the team with the funniest or most creative name. This encourages teams to come up with entertaining and memorable names, adding a touch of humour and camaraderie to the trivia experience. Our favourite this week is “My Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem”.
- Wooden spoon prize: Embrace the spirit of good-natured competition by presenting a “wooden spoon” prize to the team that finishes last. It adds a lighthearted twist, and ensures that even the teams who didn’t score high still get a chance to win something.
- A great plus with our music trivia shows is that you can reward a prize for the team who danced the best throughout the show. Who’s got the best moves? You decide.
- Most drinks or food ordered: Encourage your patrons to indulge in your venue’s offerings by giving a prize to the team that orders the most drinks or food during the game. This not only promotes engagement but also boosts your venue’s sales. Win win!
Keep in mind that while these additional prizes won’t be displayed on the screen during the game, like the top three prizes, you can still inform your teams about them. Take the opportunity to communicate these special prizes when handing out the answer sheets at the beginning of the show. Clear communication ensures that everyone is aware of the additional prize opportunities and increases their excitement.
Don’t forget what additional prizes you’ve offered. Also remember to give them out during the show, or at the end, depending on the nature of the prize.
Remember, your generosity and creativity in offering extra prizes will not go unnoticed by your teams. It adds an extra layer of fun and engagement, making your trivia event a memorable experience. So, go ahead and think outside the box to make your trivia night even more rewarding! Everyone loves prizes!
